Chromatic Symbolism Between Art and Food: “L’ultima cena”

25/09/2024

After the great success of the first two events in the “Chromatic Symbolism Between Art and Food” series, we are excited to announce the third appointment, which will take place on September 25th at 6:30 PM at the Church of Malamocco, specially illuminated for the occasion.

On this evening, Professor Daniela Simionato-Putz will guide us on a fascinating journey to discover the symbolism behind the 16th-century painting by Giovanni Laudis, “The Last Supper”. The artwork, predominantly white in color, contains a particularly curious detail: a basket of bread being watched over by the vigilant gaze of a tabby cat, inviting us to explore new meanings and interpretations.

As with the previous events, the evening’s menu has been designed to immerse participants in a complete sensory experience, enriched by the reflection on the artwork and the beauty of our outdoor garden, where the dinner will be served.

Aperitif

  • Crispy prawns with basil pesto
  • Codfish meatballs with mint tomatoes

Seated at the table in the barn

  • Gratinated scallops with orange
  • Malamocchina-style gratinated tagliolini
  • Baked sea bream fillet with herb potatoes

Dessert

Chocolate salami

Water and a selection of wines paired with the menu

The participation fee for the evening is €60.

The event is reserved for members of the Le Locandiere Association. Limited availability.
Please make a reservation via email at [email protected] or by phone at 0415261143.

This third appointment concludes the summer series, but our passion for art, culture, and gastronomy will continue with new events and opportunities to discover the treasures of Malamocco in the coming months.
