27/08/2024

The Second Appointment Between Sacred and Profane, Discovering the Treasures of Malamocco

On August 27th, the second event of the series “Chromatic Symbolism Between Art and Food” will be held at Relais Alberti. The event, hosted by Professor Daniela Simionato-Putz, will focus on the 17th-century painting by Gerolamo Forabosco “The Miraculous Rescue”, which will be analyzed through its chromatic symbolism, with particular attention to the theme of a storm in the lagoon and the predominant red tones.

The Church of Malamocco, specially illuminated for the occasion, will host the guided tour, allowing participants to deepen their understanding of the meanings and beauty of the artwork. After the tour, guests will be welcomed in the garden of Relais Alberti for an aperitif and dinner inspired by the themes and colors of the painting.

The evening’s menu, like the previous event, has been designed to create a complete sensory experience, enriched by the reflection on the artwork:

Aperitif

  • Gratinated clams
  • Codfish crostini with dark chocolate shavings and crispy polenta

Seated at the table in the barn

  • Gazpacho and flambéed shrimp
  • Potato gnocchetti with scampi busara
  • San Piero sticks in batter with orange mayonnaise, gratinated tomatoes, and garden salad

Dessert

Strawberry meringue

Water and a selection of wines paired with the menu

The participation fee for the evening is €60.

The event is reserved for members of the Le Locandiere Association. Limited availability.
