Carola

Carola, located on the first floor of the villa, is a suite with a view of the church square, decorated in shades of green, and can be prepared with two large twin beds or a large King Size bed.
“According to ancient sources, Carola is noted to have been the first dogaressa of Venice of whom we have knowledge. The noblewoman of Frankish origin married Doge Obelerio, who was crowned right in Malamocco in 804.”

Caterina

Caterina, also on the second floor, is the deluxe attic with a view of the inner courtyard. Decorated in yellow and orange tones, it has a double bed or two twin beds.
“Caterina Giustinian was the second wife of doge Giovanni Dolfin, who reigned from 1356 until his death. Her portrait was sculpted above her husband’s tomb in St. Mark’s Basilica.”

Cecilia

Cecilia is located on the first floor of the villa, a deluxe room with views of the inner courtyard.
Furnished in shades of gray, it is enhanced by a magnificent, large Murano chandelier, and can be arranged with a large king-size bed or two large twin beds.
“Cecilia Contarini married Doge Sebastiano Venier: she was a simple woman who preferred to avoid public ceremonies and live quietly in the palace. She became famous for being depicted in I Cerimoniali (1464-1592) along with three other dogaresse, Zilia Dandolo and Loredana Marcello.”

Elisabetta

Elisabetta, on the first floor, is a deluxe room decorated in shades of green with a view of the church square. It can be prepared with a double bed or twin beds.
“Elisabetta Grimani is remembered as the last dogaressa of Venice. She married doge Ludovico Manin in 1789 but, unlike other dogaresse, she proved to be a simple, shy, and reserved woman.”

Felicia

Felicia, also on the first floor, is a suite overlooking the Citrus Courtyard and features an exclusive sitting area. It is decorated in ochre and red and has a large double bed.
“She was the wife of doge Pietro Orseolo, the twenty-sixth doge of the Duchy of Venice in 991, before her husband decided to convert to monastic life. Felicia was portrayed in a splendid painting by Bellini, preserved at the civic museums of Venice.”

Morosina

Morosina, on the second floor of the villa, is the deluxe attic with a view of the church square. Decorated in gold and Venetian red tones, it is our Love Alcove.
“Morosina Morosini was dogaressa of the Most Serene Republic of Venice from 1595 to 1605, as the consort of doge Marino Grimani. She is remembered especially for her coronation ceremony, which took place in 1597, the most solemn of all dogaresse coronations.”

Regina

Regina is located on the first floor, a deluxe room overlooking the inner courtyard, decorated in shades of gray and blue, and features a double bed.
“Regina Gradenigo was the wife of Andrea Vendramin, a man known for his great magnanimity and generosity. The dogaressa bore her husband twelve children (six sons and six daughters). Today, a painting of the dogaressa making her triumphant entrance into the Doge’s Palace, followed by a grand procession, is preserved at the Museo Correr.”

Teodora

Teodora, a suite on the first floor of the central body of the villa, has a pleasant view of the Citrus Courtyard and is decorated in peach tones. It can be prepared with two large twin beds or a king-size bed.
“The Greek dogaressa of imperial lineage arrived in Venice to marry doge Domenico Selvo, who reigned from 1071 to 1084. She is remembered for her luxurious habits, such as bathing only in dew collected by her servants or using a fork at the table, which was still unknown at that time.”
